2. Probably Thomas Babington, Baron Macaulay (18001859), politician and historian. In the polemic of WHFT against J.W. Croker (d.1857), politician and journalist [see Doc. No: 06058], Macaulay would have been a great support as John Wilson Croker was an old enemy of his and wrote equally negative reviews of his The history of England from the accession of James the Second (London: J.M. Dent & Sons Ltd, 18481860).
3. Possibly Sir David Brewster (17811868), Scottish scientist & journalist. [See Doc. No: 06048].
