N.P. Lerebours

Sir.

I begin by begging your pardon for taking so long to send you the Panoramic proof and the proofs which were obtained using Fizeau’s method of engraving. This was because I was engaged in research to complete the latter proofs.

You will think I am very indiscreet, Sir, but as a landscape painter, I am so eager to own a proof with such beautiful trees, like the one displayed at C. Chavalier’s home, that I have come to ask you to give it to me, if you happen to have one at your disposal.

Please forgive me for taking this liberty and believe that I am Your very obedient servant
N.P Lerebours
