Albany <1>
29 Novr 1825
Sir,
This Morning I called on the Assessor of Taxes & informed him that you was <sic> not a resident in Albany till after the 5 of April last, & in fact was out of England during the period for which he has required a return of your Establishment – this explanation has satisfied him, & you will not therefore be called upon for a return till next Ladyday, when a Notice Paper will be left at your Chambers –
Annexed I beg leave to send you a statement of your Accompt for Rent &c, & shall feel obliged by your remitting me a Draft on your Banker for the Amount, at your convenience.
It is not customary for the Porter to pay the Taxes for the Inhabitants of this Place, but, if you find any inconvenience in doing so, I will with much pleasure, undertake the settlement for you.
I remain
Sir, Your most Obedt Hble Sert
W. J. Luxmoore
