Dear Talbot

When I saw you on the subject of the County Meeting I had great doubt as to my being able to attend it, but I am sorry to say that it is now quite im-possible for me to do so from having been again attacked by a return of Influenza

The North Easterly wind today is more like March than June and I am positively ordered by my medical man not even to encounter it here but remain in the house.

Under these circumstances I hope you will not consider my absence any mark of disrespect to Her Majesty <1> or to the County. To say nothing of the High Sheriff whom I should wish to support on such an occasion

Pray believe me

Vy truly yours

Methuen
