The enclosed notes were sent to us from Harley St <1> & we venture to forward them as the report which was fully believed for some hours yesterday of the poor Kings death is without foundation –<2>
We have had one drive with the new horses & prospered exceedingly, & you will be glad to know that we had settled all with the other man without trouble, he attempted to impose upon us by charging 5/ additional for the price of the carriage with which he had nothing to do, but luckily Hallam did not see the uncivil man himself, but his foreman who made the required alteration without difficulty –
