Markeaton <1>
July 21st

Dear Mr Talbot

Your letter <2> found us enjoying the Country even more than you can imagine. – All looks so quiet & peaceable we are disposed to forget the turbulent spirits by whom (unluckily for us) we are surrounded. We rejoice to hear your Electioneering concerns<3> proceed so prosperously as to allow you time & leisure to visit your friends & are delighted to find you will take us in your way. – We shall have great pleasure in shewing you some of the beauties of our County – to many of them I am ashamed to confess we are as perfect strangers as yourself & anticipate much pleasure in the prospect of our little tour –

We shall be stationary for the next 2 or 3 months so pray come whenever y it best you find it most convenient, giving us however a little notice lest we may have any engagements to interfere with our plans, besides the chance which now & then happens at this season of the year of our absence from home for a few days on visits to distant friends –

Believe me with our best regards
Yours very sincerely
S. Mundy
