My dear Talbot
I have looked over the statement you have sent me respecting the proposal for putting other lands into Settlement in lieu of the Nethermore farm. <1> If the lands to be substituted are of equal value as they are represented to be, I can see no objection to the proposed arrangement. I hope the vein of iron ore will prove productive though this will not affect you so much as those who are to undertake the speculation. I return the Papers as you will probably wish to have them back. –
Believe me Very truly yours

Do you know who wrote the article in the new Quarterly on Wiltshire where allusion is made to the discovery of iron ore in your County? <2>
Notes:
1. Nethermore Farm and Wood, Lacock, Wiltshire.
2. This was a combined book review including one of the Handbook for Wiltshire. 1858; "Art. IV.", London Quarterly Review, v. 13 no. 205, January 1858, pp. 59-76.
