Sir,

We return the account and to show you that we are desirous to meet your wishes we deduct the 1/6d for repairs to the Thermometer: though we submit that in fairness we must ask you to be good enough to admit that it was "not defective when sold" but by your own assertion was damaged by its journey with you home.

The Slides by error were charged the usual price – but seeing the number you have had we have charged the whole at 6/9 each

We trust this will meet with your satisfaction.

We are, Sir, Your obedient Servts
Murray & Heath

H. Fox Talbot Esqre
