Sir
I have received from Paris three small prints by Niépce & Lemaitre’s process of engraving, & a set of photographs on stone by the process of Lerebours, Lemercier, & Barreswil, which, knowing your constant interest in all that concerns photography, I take the liberty of sending to you, with the respects of these gentlemen the inventors, lest you shd not happen to receive them by any other hand –
Might I make so bold as request [sic] for these gentlemen a few sets of proofs of your late process of engraving, for which I cd call any place in town here, if you shd be so kind as [sic] favor me with your authority to receive them –
Believe me Sir Yours respectfully
J. O. Murray
