My dear Cousin Henry,

I am happy to say that Aunt Charlotte is really mending, though very slowly – She is still confined to her bed, but her cough is much less troublesome & she sleeps more – You have a new little cousin as my Brother Stephen has a tiny son – the race of Nicholl’s [sic] dont [sic] seem likely to be extinguished!
