Lacock, May 6th 1867
My dear Mr Talbot,
The children come to me next Monday and I expect my mother in a day or two after. I hope you will be here when she is as I know it will give my mother so much pleasure –
We have had a most oppressive day, a thunder storm evidently going round but as usual not coming here: all the trees are making up for lost time and coming out rapidly.
I heard from Aunt Charlotte a day or two ago and she tells me she is going abroad, to Lescome so I hope you will meet her – You must be glad all rumours of war are pretty well over now for of course they interfere with ones movements considerably.
Yours truly
Edward P. Nicholl
