Lacock
July 8th 1869
My dear Mr Talbot,
I have been intending to write to you for some time, but could not find out your address, I now have done, what I might have done before, sent my letter to Charles to forward. The reason I wanted to write was to tell you that I am obliged to part with some of my furniture, books, &c, it is a hard thing to do, but I find it is a necessity, and perhaps I of all people are in that position, that I can do so with out its being any hardship to others, still I do not like having to part with my Collection of years.
My mother of course is aware of my proceedings, and consents although unwillingly.
I am glad to hear we shall have you home so soon –
Yours truly
Edward P. Nicholl
