4, Old Palace Yard, S.W.
April 1st 1858
Dear Sir,
I have had the pleasure of your letter of yesterday.
We did not print the speeches of our Counsel as our opponents did; but I will endeavor to spare you a lithographic copy of Sir FitzRoy Kelly’s after the hearing on the 15th
I am sorry that I cannot offer to do so now since we have only just enough copies for the use of our Counsel at the hearing. Permit me to say that the Attorney General’s speech was not printed by order of the House of Lords –
I am aware that it had been so represented but I am in a position to deny the fact & to inform you that the official looking thru book which has been circulated has no seal of official authority.
I have thought that the accompanying Pedigree showing the marriages of the several members of the Family might be interesting to you.
I beg to remain Dr Sir,yr most obedient humble Servant
