I have taken the liberty of presenting the specimens of photo.engraving <1> to the “Museum of Science and Art” <2> here. The Director is forming a collection Apparatus, material, and results, in illustration of photography and applied to me for them.
I have also handed him the notes on the process which you sent for our Catalogue, but which we did not use. I hope I have not done wrong and remain

1. These photoglyphic engravings have not been located. They had won a silver medal from the Edinburgh Photographic Society. [See Doc. No: 00486].
2. This became the Royal Scottish Museum, National Museums of Scotland.
