My dear Sir
I have been so busy to-day with book binders and publishers that I fear I made a shabby looking packet of the sheets sent off this morning, and now I have but a few minutes to spare before the post office closes. Many thanks for part 2; I propose to make one book of the two, binding up blank sheets with them for an alphabetical index.
I had a copy of Mr Grivel’s <Stundend?> some months ago and though it very good; there are some variants in it if I remember right, not in Layard I was now aware that you had published a translation
I do not know what delays Volume III of R. Inscriptions. I only know that it was finished many months ago. I heard a day to two from the Lithographer that it was now with the binder, and would soon be out. I had not heard of Ménant’s Syllabaaire Assyrien
Yours faithfully
