My dear Sir
I have just received from Harrison clean sheets to p 924, concluding M [Caus Deo] and making a beginning of N. not knowing whether you may still be in Edinburgh, or Lacock, I will not send my packet till I hear from you.
I do not know if I have written to you since I got a sort of paralytic seizure in my right hand which disabled me from writing for a fortnight. This checked my dictionary a little, but I am now much better; but my thumb is still benumbed, and I write very slowly. A curious effect of this is that without continued care, I omit words usually two together. I think I have some relief from a galvanic battery which I use every day, as well as embrocation, it is very more annoying than painful. I hear from Smith that he intends to publish soon, without any prior justifications.
I remain y dear Sir yours faithfully
Edwin Norris
