My dear Sir
I have just found a letter of yours, of Sept. 30, which I fear I did not reply to. It was about ץח “arrow,” as an analogue for ussi. I have a difficulty about admitting this, as I do not remember any case of omitting the n in Assyrian; I do not think the aspirate is ever weakened beyond the <cuneiform>, and even that I respect, having found <cuneiform> occasionally put for <cuneiform>.
Thanks for nahiri, which I have entered in my manuscript. I have nothing in print beyond NDB madbuti, being greatly missled <sic> about a passage in Botta 15r.14=158 <&?> Botha 190.9,10 Bott Oppert’s version is simply nonsense I think. I make nothing of nindan. but think it a <niphal?> form of andut-sun, root nada. The printer has copy as far as nazir.
I propose to be in Michael’s Grove to-morrow, not much better for seven weeks ‘sea air’ but I hope a little stronger
I remain my dear Sir Yours faithfully
Edwin Norris
