R. As Soc
1 June 1857
My dear Sir,
The Committee who examined the four sealed versions have at length delivered in their Report, <1> the last portion of which with the papers themselves, I have received this morning. It is to the effect, mainly, that they find conformity enough to satisfy them that the interpretation has been grounded on a sure basis, but that much still remains to be done. I shall bring all before the Council on Saturday next, and propose to read all or part of the four versions at our public meeting the same day: It is not unlikely that it may be proposed at the meeting to print the four versions; in such case would you give you assent to it?
Please excuse this hurried scrawl, for I am very busy,
I am Dear Sir yours sincerely
Edwin Norris
