Royal Asiatic Society, 5, New Burlington Street, London,
29th Sept. 1859
Dear Sir,
I am now returned and shall be happy to receive the sealed packet you have given me notice of. In regard to the copies of the inscriptions, Mr Panizzi <1> has not yet come back from the continent but is every day expected. As soon as he returns I will see him: in the mean time I will ask you for a list of what you have. I may possibly have those you want, without the necessity of making an application to him.
I have not received from Sir Henry <2> the "table of contents" which he has promised me
I remain yours faithfully
Edwin Norris
