Dear Sir
A severe inflammation of the eyes obliges me to have recourse to my daughter’s pen.
Since last Friday I have been unable to read or write a word. This is especially unpleasant as I was in the full swing of my dictionary, <1> of which I have printed about 340 pages, extending to the middle of the letter zain. It is most vexatious as at my age I have no time to lose.
Thanks for your glossary of which I have occasionally availed myself as printed in the Society’s Journal; <2> as I have also of your several published translations. I hope however to resume my work before many days are past, Although at present I feel quite blind
Believe me My dear Sir Yours faithfully
Edwin Norris
