La cura di bagni questa volta ha sorpassata la mia e l’attenzione fino del Medico. Tiene quasi al prodiggio. I dolori sono affatto spariti, e di tutti non mi resta che alquanto debilitamento nella massa muscolare e nervosa. L’assicuro che sono più contento che se avessi ritrovato un tesoro. Il dottore mi dice che domani posso venire a casa ma di guardarmi dal freddo e di non viaggiare outside ciò che farò. Egli stesso è sorpreso di un così pronto effetto. Dio sia ringraziato e la bontà di V.S. che mi ha mandato qui. Sarà questo un diritto di più alla mia gratitudine. Sono indeciso se verrò domattina o la sera perché mi sono scordato di domandare al dottore che ora non è più in casa fino alle 6 se abbia inteso che facci un bagno anco domani prima di partire e così se non sono nella mattinata a Lacock abbia la bontà di mandarmi la carovana a Chippenham <1> per le 5 e mezzo alla sera. Le porgo i miei rispetti alla nobile e buona di Lei famiglia e con una vera stima e gratitudine sono

Most Esteemed Lord
This time the bath treatment has surpassed my expectations and even those of the Doctor. It is almost a wonder. The pains have completely vanished, and the only remnant I have of everything is some weakening of the muscular and nervous mass. I assure you that I am happier than I would have been had I found treasure. The doctor tells me that I may return home tomorrow but that I should keep out of the cold and not travel outside which I will do. He himself is surprised by such a prompt result. I give thanks to God and to Your Lordship’s goodness which sent me here. This shall entitle you yet more to my gratitude. I know not whether I should come tomorrow morning or evening because I forgot to ask the doctor who will not now be at home before 6 if he meant that I should bathe again tomorrow before leaving and if I do not reach Lacock in the course of the morning, please be so good as to send the carriage to Chippenham for me at half past 5 in the evening. I offer my regards to your noble and good family and with genuine esteem and gratitude I am
