Monsieur

Ch. Philipon

Translation:

Dear Sir,

I have had the honour of seeing Mr Robertson who handed over to me, on the production of my receipt, the 80 Talbotype views which he took care of for me.

I am waiting at present for those which are at Mrs Frederick’s, in order to be able to present the amateurs with a great mass of subjects.

The goal of this letter is to acknowledge reception to you, and I am happy not to have to enter today into any development of thought, for my poor head would not recover from it.

I had much trouble in bringing together the sum of ideas necessary to reach the present state of affairs.

Please accept, Sir, the respectful greetings of your humble servant.
