Dear Sir,
“The better way will be for Mr Talbot to state whether he will take a sum down for the exclusive license in a percentage, fixing it in any way that he may think proper, I will then communicate with the party who in reality is to pay it, in whatever form it may be arranged, otherwise we shall not adopt it – If a moderate Sum only is asked we should recommend our friend to give it”
The above is an extract from Messrs Elkington’s <1> Letter. the great difficulty that they feel is that they have not tried any experiments on these salts and they would not like to be bound strictly to terms without having made extensive trials to prove that it was better than the salts they are now using – we shall be glad to hear from you in reply to this
