20 Dec 58.

Sir,

I have in preparation to be published the ensuing London Season a work of great public interest, which I have executed from nature photographically; the size of the subjects composing it is limited. (under 8 inches). they consist of Figures, Interiors and Exteriors. I propose to make a Volume of them consisting of some twenty subjects.

It has occurred to me that they might probably be executed very advantageously by your new process on steel, whereby a large number of impressions would be available for my Publishers, whilst at the same time the popularity which the nature of the work would ensure could not fail to be advantageous to the process. I therefore write to know at what point of progress & perfection the new process has arrived and how you would feel disposed towards my taking it for such a work & what facilities, if any, you could give me towards insuring a successful issue. Waiting your answer

I am Sir Your obedient Servt
Lake Price.
