Dear Sir

I have the honour to inform you that at a Special Meeting of the Photographic Society of London held last month, a change was made in the Bye Laws, by means of which gentlemen resident within the United Kingdom are rendered eligible for election as Honorary Members. <1> Following upon this modification, the Council unanimously recommended the names of: The Hon. W.H. Fox Talbot L.L.D., F.R.S. &c. &c. and Robert Hunt F.R.S. <2> &c. for election, and at the Ordinary General Meeting, the above were duly elected as Honorary Members.

I trust you will allow the Society the honour of adding your revered name in the above capacity and I have to state that a further Official intimation will be forwarded to you signed by the President on behalf of the Council, in a few days.

Believe me, Dear Sir, Yours sincerely and respectfully
