Encouraged by the high reputation, which distinguishes you as a Scholar a Philanthropist and as a wellwisher to my country and nation; I take the liberty of trespassing upon your attention by requesting that you would have the kindness to permit me to wait upon you at a time the most convenient to yourself in order to solicit your kind advise regarding some object of my present pursuit.
Allow me Sir to state, that I am from the University of Berlin where I have studied Medicin [sic] and Philosophy from the Professors of which I am in possession of very flattering certificates and that my during my residence in England I was chiefly occupied with literary labours and had the honor to be acquainted with some of the most distinguished Noblemen Professional and Literary Gentlemen of the country as you would perceive from the letters I have with me. Requesting the favour of an answer I have the honor to subscribe myself.
