Vicarage
November 4. 1870
My dear Sir
Mrs Talbot kindly brought over yesterday a list of Articles purchased at the Vicar’s sale, and which you have been kind enough to present to me.
I have tried again and again, when I have been with you, to thank you for all you have done for me. But I could not speak, as my heart was too full. Please let me take this method of assuring you of my gratitude. I hope you will never have cause to regret the kindness you have shown to one who feels he has little to recommend him to your notice.
Forgive me, if I cannot speak, or even write, as I would wish, & believe me
Most gratefully your’s
Edwin O. Roach
H. Fox Talbot Esqr
