25th Decr 1830
Sir /
My late Neighbour Mrs E. Trimnell, <1> I find transmitted to you on the 18th of last Month a small Parcel, containing a letter & other papers, but not having yet been favored with your reply on the subject of that letter, she is fearful the parcel has not reached you – At the instance, therefore, of Mrs T. I had purposed doing myself the honour (whilst in the Neighbourhood of Lacock whither I intended going for a few days) of waiting on you, in order to satisfy myself of its safe arrival, or otherwise, & also to confer with you on the subject thereof – but as my Journey thither is now unavoidably postponed & Mrs Trimnell feels very solicitous for an answer – I lose no time in thus addressing you, & (on behalf of the said Widow) respectfully request the favor of your early reply, according as the same parcel may, or may not, have been received, – addressed either to Mrs Trimnell, at Mr Mann’s 17 Westgate St Bath – or to
