London, 13 July, 1866.
Dear Sir,
I have been unable to reply to your letter of the 4th July at once, as our session having closed I could not readily communicate with our President and Director. They have now instructed me to inform you that your offer will be most thankfully received. The only difficulty at present seems to be whether your Glossary can conveniently be incorporated in an early number of our Journal. In the forthcoming number perhaps three sheets may be allotted to it. A good portion of the next following number will be taken up by Dr. Hincks’ Assyrian Grammar; but still there will be plenty of room for another paper or two. Could you give me an approximate estimate of the number of sheets you would prefer your paper to consist of, and also of the time when it is likely to be in type? The forthcoming number of the Journal will be ready for distribution about the end of September.
Believe me to remain, dear Sir, yours very faithfully
R. Rost.
