Je me félicite d’être appelé à l’honneur de vous informer que la Société Française de Statistique Universelle, qui attache un grand prix à compter dans son sein les personnes qui par leur amour pour les Sciences ont acquis une juste célébrité, a décidé que vous seriez prié d’accepter le Titre de Membre honoraire.
Cette décision a été prise par la Société, d’après le vœu exprimé par plusieurs de ses membres.
Instituée pour contribuer au bien être de l’humanité en accélérant les progrès de toutes les connaissances utiles, la Société Française de Statistique Universelle espère que vous voudrez bien lui permettre de décorer ses listes de votre nom.

I am very pleased to be assigned the honour of informing you that the Société Française de Statistique Universelle, which attaches great value to counting amongst its members people who have rightly become famous through their love for the Sciences, has decided to ask you to accept the Title of honourary Member.
This decision was taken by the Society, according to the wish of several of its members.
