Dear Sir,

It was my Intention to have been with you on Monday next to shew you that I have not been by any means unmindful of your Interest at the approaching Election All your old friends with whom I have any Influence have promised to remain firm with you I am obliged to attend a public Meeting at Bradford on Monday to preside as Chairman of Mr Methuens <2> friends but should your poll be continued over Monday I will endeavor to be at Chippenham on Tuesday Morning – and from all I hear I shall have the Certainly of shaking you by the hand on your full Success –
