Monsieur

Agréez mes saluts empressées

M. Sautter.

Sir

I have indeed received your letter of the 26th instant – Someone in my family visited Mr Masson and, without explaining the motive for his visit, was able to find out that the creator of photography on steel, about which you have told me, is a Mr Mousseau, who works at the museum of natural history. He claims to have invented the process of photography on steel, and is said to have patented it – I have not yet been able to find this Patent, but at the first opportunity, I will try to finish my inquiries and will write to you again. –

Please accept my best wishes

M. Sautter
