Verehrter Herr!

Im Begriff eine kleine Erholungsreise anzutreten, unterlasse ich es doch nicht zuvor Ihnen meinen herzlichsten Dank fur [sic] Ihre werthen Zeilen von 3 April. ^<1> Leider kann ich dem heutigen Briefe die in Publication begriffene Schrift noch nicht beilegen, da durch Erkrankung des Setzers – wir stehen im Druck gerade bei dem Glossar – eine unliebsame Verzögerung eingetreten ist. Sie werden das Schriftchen kann vor 3 Wochen erhalten. Soll ich es alsdann nach Bath, oder nach Lacock Abbey senden?

Als Antidoron ^<2> für das unzweifelhaft richtige Dilbat Δελεφτ kann ich Ihnen jetzt auch die Erklärung der Glosse μολοβóβασ. ο υΔι òσ [Greek] bei Hesychius geben. Es ist MUL. BAR. RAR = d.i. Stern der Merodach = Stern des Jupiter.

About to make a small tour, I omit not my most heartfelt thanks for your precious lines of 3 April. Unfortunately I cannot yet enclose with today’s letter the work which is currently in publication, since the illness of the typesetter – printing stands at the Glossary – caused an undesirable dealy. You will hardlly receive the little piece in less than three week’s time. Should I then direct to Bath, or to Lacock Abbey?

As antidoron for Dilbat = [Greek] which is undoubtedly correct, I am also able to give you the explanation of the gloss [Greek] it is MUL. BAR. RAR = i.e. Star of Merodach = star of Jupiter.
