Dr Sir

I thank you for your note of yesterday–<2>
Nov 26/51

I have no hesitation in recommending that the accounts should be placed in geographical order. The phenomena of the fiery clouds &c. &c. may have actually experienced a change during the progress of the eclipse and this will be brought out by the accounts of observers given in their geographical order, & in no other way. – This eclipse was total in Baffin’s bay, Lancaster Sound &c. Have we no observations from the Arctic voyagers? Were they not still there on the 28th July?

Yours very truly
H. F. Talbot

Revd R. Sheepshanks
