Decr. 12th 1872
My dear Sir
I must apologise for my long silence, I ought to have written to you long ago but I have been so very busy and worried that I have put off everything I could – I am very much obliged for the copies of your papers which you sent to my friend and myself – you have doubtless heard of the flood tablets I will as soon as possible send you photographs of the principal fragments and some more copy of my Sennacherib
Yours respectfully
George Smith
