My dear Sir

I thank you very much for the copy of your paper, <1> I will consider the points you mention Some of them I see are rather late, the correction of the passage in Vol III line 43 from corpses to drying up was already published by me in the second edition of my “Discoveries” <2> in March but there are other notes in your paper of which I am very glad indeed

We may congratulate ourselves on the new expedition but official people are so slow – if [illegible deletion] they would leave the whole matter to me I would see to it in very little time, as it is I expect unless they are urged from outside they will be months before they send me I should like the pleasure of seeing you and showing you the latest finds

Yours very truly
George Smith
