Llanberris [sic]
Sept 8.

Dear Henry,

I only received your letter last evening, but I had heard the melancholy news <1> you communicate the day before from Louisa Lansdowne, <2> & deeply sorry I assure you I was to receive it, for I have strongly in my mind the very many cheerful hours I have spent in his society. I wish I was nearer & could be of some use & comfort to Lily <3> & you all, but at present that is out of the question, but pray give my kindest love to all, &

Believe me Yr Affe
Ilchester
