Dear Henry

I got a present of a few Lotus’ roots <1> yesterday which I thought could not be better disposed of than between you & Emily, <2> so she will deliver to you on demand certain roots which I hope will grow in hot mud or some other fashion which you can best devise, the “Fetneh” is I believe the Mimosa Farnesiana” with a sweet yellow flower.
