Sir
In answer to yours of the 1st Inst I have to inform you that upon seeing your servant and getting a full description of the persons who attempted to defraud her I find that we cannot charge them at present with any police offence. But if the persons were seriously inclined and not from mistake that this affair occurred I have no doubt they will try the same again, when the description given by your servant will be of some service. I have instructed the Officers both on day and night duty to take particular care that no person annoys your servant in future
I am Sir Your obedient Servant
