My Dear Constance
I had a pretty comfortable journey – at Ealing we overtook a former train which had got off the rails, & was just got on again, but in the interim its fire was gone out and therefore engine useless – We pushed it before us to Town, & consequently it entered the station by the principal entrée, while we were obliged ourselves to back a certain distance and then enter by a side door, or behind the scenes. At Melksham <1> I noticed a canarybird flower 12 feet high trained against a house. It is on the London road about 100 yards from the Kings Arms.
Your affte
Henry
