Lacock Abbey
Monday.

My dear Henry

I am delighted to think that we shall see you tomorrow – I will take care that Pullen <1> is sent to meet you at the hour you name. – Ela <2> is much better today, though very weak <3> – and she soon feels herself tired with any attempts that we make to amuse her – She is fidgetty & uncomfortable as children always are when ill, & particularly when the illness is going off. – Mr Kenrick <4> & Mr Jennings <5> have each had several cases of the same sort & some so much worse than Ela’s has been, that I am very thankful she has escaped so well. – But in every instance the cases under their care have progressed favorably. – I think Mrs Havergal <6> will perhaps manage to put off her journey one day. <7> –

All the fine weather seems to have left us again, for today is blowing & raining – but how beautiful it was yesterday! –

Your affectionate
Constance. –
