Sunday
My dear Henry
Mr Kenrick <1> did call yesterday after eight o’clock being only then going home to his dinner. – He approved of my progress & promised to call tomorrow to see if I required any further prescription. I am really almost as well as usual today – with the exception of my cough – & that is better – So I shall be quite able to enjoy our visitors tomorrow – particularly as Lady Elisabeth <2>is really coming today – and will take upon herself all the extra fatigue of entertaining them off my mind –
I had a very kind note from Lady E this morning, telling me she should come by the 2 o’clock train –
How very late you would be last night in reaching Sackville St! <3> – I hope you slept well after your cold journey – but I am afraid you could scarcely have slept as well as I did – for I never moved all night! – Isn’t that a proof that I am getting well? –
Your affectionate
Constance
