VIRTUS IN ACTIONE CONSISTIT <1>

Brockhampton Park,
Andoversford,
GLOUCESTERSHIRE.
Tuesday Decr 17th

My dear Father –

I enclose a [illegible deletion] line to Goodwin <2> as there is some thing that I want him to get for me in London. This is a nice house enough, and seems to be nearly new. I had to wait more than an hour at [illegible] – yesterday and to come on by slow train. Our communication with Gloucester is bad. – It was a long drive from Cheltenham to this house – I remain at Dabton on Saturday. They are busy here painting works and other scenery for Charades – Stew ball is tonight

Your affect son
Charles
