Harrow <1>

Tuesday

My dear Father

I am was very sorry to hear that you were so unwell the other day but I hope you will soon get quite over it. I got your translation quite safe. It was an adress to Artemis. <2> We have had the examination of clocks & watches last Tuesday & I meant to have sent you the paper, but just at present I have not been able to find them

Trevelyan <3> is carrying off nearly all the prizes here. In fact he has got all that he went in for. We never had such a prize getting head of the School. Yesterday we were beaten in our housematch.

I am very well but the weather is too hot. I am improving in swimming but not being at all strong I get tired sooner than most fellows.

I don’t think I ever told you of a long walk I took to Edgeware I started after two with another boy but didnt get home in time for 4 bill <4> which I consequently cut. We afterwards found that we might have done it easily by a short cut. You know Watting street passes through Edgeware but the part I saw was not straight. I am not sorry we went by the road for I saw Stanmore.
