My dear Father.

The owner of the poney made no objection to letting me have a weeks trial of it, only requesting to know as soon as possible. I have ridden it twice 2 considerable distances and find it go very well, and very easy to manage, so that I think there is no doubt it will do very well. – It can go a very good pace. Morley H <1> has no doubts that it will do perfectly well. So as soon as you give me authority – I can buy it. I suspect we shan’t get it much under 20 £, for its owner had not intended to sell it. but having a handwritten book There is a very high wind going on today, but otherwise it is a fine day.

Your affet son
Charles Talbot
