32 St James’ Place
Monday evening.
My dear Father.
Please thank Mamie <1> for a letter received today. As I am beginning to feel rather lonely here now without anybody here I think I shall come down for to Lacock for a few days including the 1st September, if you will send me somet some money for other wise I shall not be able to go as I havent enough to pay my lodgings and I shouldn’t come back here but go to the Paddington Hotel, <2> leaving most of my luggage at the luggage room till I come back. If you send me some supplies perhaps I will go down on Friday or perhaps on Thursday.
Your affect son
Charles.
