My dear Henry
I am much obliged by the specimens of engraving from photographic plates which you sent me. They are most interesting, and if the art can be extended so as to embrace landscape and figures, the discovery will be invaluable. The art of photography seems to be making most rapid strides and to attract a large share of public attention at present, and I think the engraving is perhaps the most important addition to the art which has yet been discovered
Ever Yours truly
