My dear Papa

We are expecting Jack<1> here tomorrow, to stay till Wednesday; and Monie<2> intends taking him over to Lacock on Tuesday, should it be any thing like a tolerable day i so please tell Hill to expect them, and to prepare a good luncheon at one oclock, which will be their dinner and to be sure and make a pudding – I hope the weather will be fine during the few days Jack is here, and that he will be able to take some walks, as we shall not have much to amuse him besides – but he will like seeing the Museum, and will no doubt enjoy his day at Lacock very much. There was a line from Tilly this morning and a little letter from Connie to R written very neatly. –

Thank you for yours received yesterday – I am glad to hear that one of the Holland bulbs has flowered so well and handsomely –

I heard from Charles<3> yesterday – he says his weather was pleasant and not to hot and that the country is looking very pretty; but He complained of a headache the day he wrote, but still seemed to be in good spirits – and was thinking of taking an excursion to Potney’s[?] some day next week – He had also seen his friend Mallock<4> and family.

Good bye dear Papa

yr affecte daughter
Ela

I have given your parchment to Eberitt[?] to frame – it is to have a glass and frame of simple gold beading, and they promise to send it home early next week –

Mama perseveres in drinking the waters daily, and I hope will soon begin to find that they do her real good. I think she has quite enjoyed the fine days we have been having lately.
