My dear Papa,
I am sorry you are not coming just now, but cannot urge you to take a journey this very cold weather – We have had 24 degrees of frost several nights – This is just a line to say we sent you a box today with 3 Pheasants – (the Cock Ph. must be roasted before the others, as it is ready –) – one Wild Duck, & two Woodcocks.
