My dear Papa,

John says that the Balmoral Hotel in Princes Street is thought very good, comfortable & also the Alma Hotel in the same street –

If you come to us on the 15^th or 16^th we shall be delighted to have you & all the little people are very much pleased to hear that Grandpapa is coming – they all send their love – I do not think it is likely we shall be able to go South on the 20^th probably a week later will be the thing – but John fixed that as the very earliest date he could entertain It has been very wet here all day –

I am just going out for a run as it has cleared up –
